Tamariki & Whānau

Nestled in Ōhinemutu village, our dental clinic is here to make good oral health easier to access for our whānau and wider community. We offer general dental care for pakeke/adults, with a range of subsidised services for Community Service Card holders. Dental care is free for rangatahi under 18 years of age
Family Start is a home – visiting service that provides early support to whānau who are expecting a pēpi or caring for a baby under the age of one. We work with whānau in the Rotorua region and Mur upara. If you live outside of these areas, you can still give us a call – we ’ ll help you find Family Start support in your area.

Caring for māmā, pēpi and whānau – from pregnancy through baby’s first year. We help you find a midwife, connect with services, and adjust to life with your newborn. We are here to awhi you every step of the way.

Any māmā can experience perinatal mental wellbeing during hapūtanga (pregnancy) and up to a year after welcoming their pēpi.

Having a baby is a life-changing experience. It’s natural to feel a wide range of emotions – joy, love, tiredness, uncertainty. Difficult feelings start to affect your day-to-day life, you don’t have to go through it alone. We’re here to awhi you.

The Well Child Tamariki Ora programme is a free series of health checks and support visits for all whānau with tamariki up to 5 years of age. Our team of Registered Nurses and Kaitiaki use a kaupapa Māori approach to nurture the wellbeing, development and potential of your tamariki. We’re here to awhi you, your tamariki and your whole whānau – every step of the way

We support māmā, pāpā and whānau in a way that feels right for you — grounded in kaupapa Māori, caring for and supporting you to maintain your hauora and wellbeing.

Tipu Ora Tiaki Whānau – hapū māmā aged 19 or younger. Partners, whānau and support people welcome.

Kahu Piringa – Hapū māmā aged 20 or older, with tamariki under 5 years old. Partners, whānau and support people welcome.

We provide immunisation clinics every Tuesday 9:00am to 3:30pm, at 16-20 Houkotuku Street, Ōhinemutu. Call us on free on 0800 348 2400 to book an appointment with one of our Registered Nurses.
