Kaumātua

Te Whare Rongomauis a place of support and healing for whānau affected by violenceor abuse. Whether you’re experiencing harm or struggling with behaviours that may becausing harm, we’re here to help you move forward safely and with dignity

Our team of kaitiaki will awhi you to understand your needs and help connect you with the right support services. For kaumātua in the early to moderate stages of matewareware, our kaitiaki offer Haumanu Whakaohooho Whakaaro–Māori (Cognitive Stimulation Therapy). This programme is designed to strengthen memory, improve quality of life and help slow the progress of mate wareware.

We believe our koeke – our kuia, koroua and pakeke – hold the wairua and wisdom of our whānau, hapū and iwi. Supporting them means strengthening the whole of Te Arawa.

Nestled in Ōhinemutu village, our dental clinic is here to make good oral health easier to access for our whānau and wider community. We offer general dental care for pakeke/adults, with a range of subsidised services for Community Service Card holders. Dental care is free for rangatahi under 18 years of age
